7 Day Kaleidoscope - North Island Day 1: Arrive Auckland On arrival in Auckland, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight: Auckland, Copthorne Hotel Anzac Avenue (standard), SkyCity Hotel (first class) or Heritage Auckland (deluxe) Day 2: Auckland—Waitomo—Rotorua Today, travel south to Rotorua via the rich pastoral province of Waikato. Enjoy lunch at the fascinating Waitomo Caves. Experience a guided tour of the famous Glow Worm grotto featuring an underground boat ride. Continue on and arrive in Rotorua. This evening, enjoy a unique Maori Hangi (feast) and cultural performance. Overnight: Rotorua, Kingsgate Hotel (standard), Heritage Hotel Rotorua (first class) or Millennium (deluxe) for 2 nights (L,D) Day 3: Rotorua Sightseeing Today you will experience the many varied sights that Rotorua has to offer. Afternoon at leisure. Day 4: Rotorua—Queenstown Fly to Queenstown (flight not included), where you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is free to enjoy at leisure. Overnight: Queenstown, Kingsgate Hotel Terraces (standard), Copthorne Hotel & Resort Lakefront (first class) or Heritage Hotel (deluxe) for 3 nights Day 5: Milford Sound Day Excursion* Join your Milford Sound Red Boat cruise. Journey to the mouth of the sound and see the seals and dolphins which inhabit this part of the world. Return to Queenstown. *Tour will operate subject to road and weather conditions. Day 6: Queenstown at Leisure A free day to enjoy the many activities available. Day 7: Queenstown—Aoraki/Mt Cook— Christchurch Depart Queenstown this morning and travel into Mt Cook National Park. We suggest a scenic flight (optional, own expense) over some of New Zealand’s finest alpine scenery. This afternoon travel via Lake Tekapo before arriving into Christchurch at approximately 7:30pm—an additional night’s accommodation is recommended.
