7 Day Glaciers - South Island

DAY 1: ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH
On arrival in Christchurch you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon is at
leisure. Overnight: Christchurch, The Elms (standard), Copthorne Central Hotel (first
class) or Millennium Hotel (deluxe)

DAY 2: CHRISTCHURCH—MT COOK— QUEENSTOWN
Depart Christchurch and travel to beautiful Lake Tekapo. Continue to Aoraki Mt Cook
National Park and New Zealand’s highest peak. Take an optional scenic flight (own
expense, weather permitting). Continue on to Queenstown. Overnight: Queenstown,
Kingsgate Hotel Terraces (standard), Copthorne Lakefront (first class) or Heritage Hotel
(deluxe) for 3 nights

DAY 3: MILFORD SOUND DAY TRIP
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fiordland National Park en route to Milford Sound. Cruise
past spectacular Bowen Falls and majestic Mitre Peak (tour will operate subject to road
and weather conditions).

DAY 4: QUEENSTOWN AT LEISURE
Spend today exploring Queenstown.

DAY 5: QUEENSTOWN—FRANZ JOSEF
Visit Lakes Wanaka and Hawea and view rugged West Coast scenery through Haast Pass
en route to Franz Josef. Overnight: Franz Josef, Franz Josef Glacier Hotel (standard, first
class & deluxe) for 2 nights

DAY 6: FRANZ JOSEF
Day at leisure to maybe take a scenic helicopter landing and a guided walk on to the
glacier (own expense) or explore the beautiful rainforest.

DAY 7: FRANZ JOSEF/TRANZALPINE TRAIN/ CHRISTCHURCH
A highlight will be the journey on the TranzAlpine train through the Southern Alps.
Arrive into Christchurch at approximately 6:40pm.
