This evening, you will experience the pre-European lifestyle and customs of Maori ancestors as you enter a Maori Village. Tribal songs and dance performances are a highlight. Enjoy traditional culture and entertainment while feasting on foods cooked in an authentic earthen oven. Overnight: Rotorua, choice of hotel for 2 nights (D) DAY 2: ROTORUA’S FAMOUS ATTRACTIONS Your 1/2-day tour today includes a visit to Te Puia Thermal Reserve and the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute. View mighty geysers, boiling mud pools, and the traditional arts and culture of the Maori people. Next stop is Rainbow Springs—a unique showcase of New Zealand’s flora and fauna including New Zealand’s national icon, the kiwi bird. Enjoy a farm show that will give you insight into New Zealand’s interesting farming history. Then ride the Skyline Gondola. At the summit, enjoy lunch at the restaurant before your descent, where the tour ends at approximately 2:30pm.
