DAY 1: ARRIVE HOBART
Pick up your Hertz rental car and proceed to your hotel. Hobart, Tasmania’s capital city, is
centered around the water. It boasts arts and music, fine restaurants and friendly people in a
colorful and enriching environment. Overnight: Hobart, Mercure Hotel Hobart (standard) or
Hotel Grand Chancellor (first class) for 2 nights

DAY 2: PORT ARTHUR GUIDED LUXURY TOUR
Be met at your hotel this morning for a tour of Port Arthur, Australia’s famous penal
settlement. Travel around this fascinating city to the historic village of Richmond. Visit
Australia’s oldest Catholic church, marvel at Devil’s Kitchen and the natural attractions of the
rugged coast. After lunch, your guide will escort you around the ruins, telling tales of the
hardships suffered by the convicts. The day ends with a short harbor cruise. (B,L)

DAY 3: HOBART—FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK
The picturesque journey from Hobart to Freycinet National Park takes approximately 2 hours.
Just east of Hobart is the historic town of Richmond, with its antique shops and arts and
crafts galleries. Continue along the coast and stop for lunch in Swansea, overlooking Great
Oyster Bay. In the afternoon, continue towards Coles Bay and the spectacular Freycinet
National Park. Overnight: Freycinet National Park, Freycinet Lodge for 2 nights (B)

DAY 4: FREYCINET LODGE
Freycinet Lodge on Tasmania’s East Coast is near Wineglass Bay, a spectacular beach, located
within Freycinet National Park. A tranquil escape, there are no telephones or televisions in
the cabins. After dinner, partake in wildlife spotting, evening star-gazing and wine tasting.
Today, why not take a walk to stunning Wineglass Bay—or drive just 30 minutes from town
to Cape Tourville lighthouse for breathtaking coastal scenery. (B)

DAY 5: FREYCINET LODGE—LAUNCESTON
Depart for Launceston Airport (approximately 2 hours’ drive). Return your car and connect
with your onward flight (airfare not included). (B)
