DAY 1: ARRIVE DARWIN You will be met and transferred by private car to your choice of accommodation in Darwin. Overnight: Darwin, Holiday Inn Darwin (standard) or Saville Park Suites (first class) DAY 2: DARWIN—KAKADU NATIONAL PARK Depart Darwin at 7:30am, travel into World Heritagelisted Kakadu National Park and explore the ancient Aboriginal art sites at Ubirr Rock. After lunch, join the Guluyambi cruise on the East Alligator River with an Aboriginal guide. Learn about Aboriginal culture and, by special permission, enjoy a walk into Arnhem Land. Overnight: Aurora Kakadu Resort (standard) or Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn (first class) for 2 nights (L) DAY 3: 4WD ARNHEM LAND TOUR Join a 4WD adventure into Arnhem Land to visit Mikinj Valley. Travel through scenic lands of sandstone outcrops and escarpments, forests, flood plains and billabongs. This area is inaccessible to most and has been home to Aborigines for thousands of years. Hear of land ownership and learn bush skills. (L) DAY 4: KAKADU NATIONAL PARK - KATHERINE Travel to Nourlangie art site and view the ancient galleries of artwork. The unique x-ray style works record the traditional cultures, changes and evolution of the land and people over the last 40,000 years. Continue to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Center before joining a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong. After lunch, travel to Pine Creek and then on to Katherine. Overnight: Katherine, Knotts Crossing Resort, Village Rooms (standard) or Motel Rooms (first class) (L) DAY 5: KATHERINE - DARWIN This morning travel to nearby Nitmiluk National Park. Enjoy a cruise through the sandstone walls of the gorge, passing along the waters of the Katherine River. Following your cruise, inspect the Nitmiluk Visitors Center before continuing on to Edith Falls where there is an opportunity to swim. Reboard the coach and begin the return journey to Darwin, stopping at the township of Adelaide River to visit the war cemetery. 4 Day Tour Departs Day 2: Monday (May-Oct) and Friday (Jul-Oct). *4 Day tour does not include transfers or accommodation in Darwin.
