Leaving your hotel we head to the helipad where you board your heli for an exhilarating one hour flight over the city and then North to the Hunter Valley. There are not many people that can boast to see this world famous region from the sky but as you look down on the vineyards the scenery will leave you breathless. Our luxury vehicles will be waiting on the ground for you to take you to Pepper Tree wines. A visit to the winery offers one of the great wine experiences. A walk through the gardens introduces you to the rustic timber buildings, which emit a welcoming warmth. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff take much pride in providing helpful and educated assistance with tastings. Our next stop is at Ivanhoe wines. Stephen being a fifth generation Drayton has had the knowledge of vineyards and winemaking handed down from father to son for over 140 years. With his valuable experience in the vineyard and winery, Stephen and his wife Tracy continue the Ivanhoe tradition. The cellar door is a modern day replica of the original Ivanhoe homestead with an underground cellar housing the museum wines. The majority of the vineyard on Ivanhoe is over 40 years old. You will sample a range of their best. As the tastings finish we meander over to beautiful Elizabeth Café, situated at Mount Pleasant for a two course lunch. Elizabeth's Cafe at Mount Pleasant Winery was established in 1997. The cafe has a philosophy of serving good food to compliment the vast range of wines offered by McWilliams Mount Pleasant. To achieve this, each of the dishes offered at Elizabeth's Cafe has been designed around the wines from the bread to the desserts. We will take you through this experience at a leisurely pace so as to enjoy the sumptuous food, fine wine, and historic ambience. You will be back in the city around 6pm. |
